Last year when the bf and I visited Japan, we HAD to check out Harry Potter Land. Although the Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) display was already removed, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter still seemed to be hugely popular. In fact, there is now a brand new one open in the Orlando park!
We purchased both our 1 day studio pass and Universal Express Pass 7 through USJ before the day (I think it was only available through the Japanese version of the USJ website). Unfortunately because we bought the tickets only a few weeks before the date we were going, the Express Pass price was super high (something in the 9000yen range). Despite entertaining the idea of YOLO-ing without the express pass, we decided it wasn’t worth the risk and shelled out the pennies. It was so worth purchasing. Several rides that day had lines well over 100 minutes each, but with the express pass we got in within 15 minutes for each of them!
If you’ve been to other Universal Studio parks, you’ll realise that many of the rides are the same. The Jurassic Park ride was exactly the same, as was several of the other rides that duped with the Universal Studios in LA. The real merit here was just Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and now, Jaws!
We visited Harry Potter Land both in the morning, and again at night to see the night views. It was well worth going back for the photos and the cosy winter night atmosphere!
And some extra photos from around Universal Studios. The Christmas cheer was in, and it was so bloody cute!
Beware of the high prices around Christmas time, and try to pick a date where it has a chance of slightly bad weather. There will be less people, and the tickets may be a little cheaper. All in all, it’s definitely worth going in winter for the winter Hogwarts feel!
